An Italian-Brazilian contemporary artist, Barbara Santos Parziale carries the legacy of great Italian sculpture in her DNA. Granddaughter of the renowned Brescian sculptor Gianni Parziale, Barbara does not merely paint the surface: she investigates and shapes its structure.

Her artistic research sits at the exact crossroads between the primordial exploration of materials and the frontier of certified contemporary art. Her approach to the space of the canvas is, by nature and by lineage, deeply sculptural. Working with high-thickness modelling pastes and opaque liquid plasters, the artist triggers chemical and physical processes that she lets evolve in a controlled way. It is a choreography between the intention of the hand and the nature of matter: cracks, shrinkage fissures and surface tensions are not flaws, but the very language of the work.

For Barbara, colour is never a mere coating but an infusion. Pure raw mineral pigments, settled inside fractures that are still wet, give her creations a geological, almost archaeological depth.

With the genesis of the ARCHÈ Protocol, Barbara Santos Parziale takes a pioneering step: she elevates the ancient manual gesture to irrefutable data. Her works are conceived not only to be admired, but to be "read" by technology.
